BBC receives nearly 2,000 complaints for wall-to-wall royal birth coverage

'One listener accused the Today programme on Radio Four of covering the birth of Prince George Alexander Louis as if it was a “down-market tabloid”.
They also speculated that the extensive coverage – which has been accused of bias in favour of the Royal Family – “embarrassed the two professional presenters who happened to be in the chair on that day”.
So far the corporation has received 1,853 complaints from viewers, after 247 official complaints were made on the day the Duchess of Cambridge went in labour alone.'
