In 2002, Bilderbergers agreed to start war on Iraq – investigative journalist — RT

In 2002, Bilderbergers agreed to start war on Iraq – investigative journalist — RT: RT: When it comes to the Bilderberg Group, wild conspiracy theories abound. Why do you think they attract this reaction from people?

Tony Gosling: I think, it’s pretty obvious to me, that this is the most convenient way to distract attention, say, to sort of mix up this very important meeting with other silly conspiracy theories. I can tell you my blood is boiling at the lack of coverage in the Western world. If you had all of the leaders of the main banks in the West, all of these royalty, all of the chief executives, as well as people like George Osborne, with his treasury team there – I mean, we are talking about an incredibly important meeting – even if one of these groups were to meet up together, it would be in our headlines. But since they are all at the same place, you would expect more coverage.

Occupy Bilderberg faces off with secretive gathering — RT

Occupy Bilderberg faces off with secretive gathering — RT: In year’s past, it is rumored that leaders of the United States and Britain were agreed on by global figureheads behind closed doors during the Bilderberg Conference; this week in Virginia, speculators have introduced the notion that international big-wigs will be brought with questions surrounding both who to back during the 2012 US presidential election and who will be picked to run alongside GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

Sunny future: Humankind faces huge solar storms — RT

Sunny future: Humankind faces huge solar storms — RT: This solar maximum, will be less powerful than the previous one in 2000 and one of the weakest since 1928, the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center predicted.

“In 2000 there were far more geomagnetic storms than expected in this and coming years. And not only in quantity but also in power,” said Sergey Gaydash, the head of Russia’s Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radio Wave Propagation.

Though weak, it can still pose threats to communication lines, with predictions that a strong solar storm could cause between $1 and 2 trillion in damages.

The increased solar activity and following higher Geomagnetic Activity (GMA) could possibly have a significant influence on those suffering from heart attacks and cardiovascular diseases.

The boy who stared death in the face - Mail & Guardian Online:

An 11-year-old boy has described how he smeared himself with the blood of his slain brother and played dead after loyalist gunmen burst into his home and killed six members of his family at the start of a massacre in Houla in central Syria.

“Why are you asking me who they were? I know who they were. We all know it. They were the regime army and people who fight with them. That is true.”

The Guardian was unable to verify the account and has chosen not to name the boy.

Chemtrails Polluting Thunder Clouds Causing Global Warming | Before It's News: When the researchers claimed that pollution was trapping heat within the clouds, did it occur to them that geo-engineering is dumping massive amounts of aluminum and other toxins into the clouds; toxins that would obviously be considered pollution?

Quite ironic, seeing that their own geo-engineering is causing the effects they claim are caused by man-made global warming.

Juventus coach implicated in match fixing - Mail & Guardian Online

Juventus coach implicated in match fixing - Mail & Guardian Online: The saga has now also ensured that at least one player won’t be at the European Championship.

Police swept through the Italian national squad’s training camp near Florence as part of a wide-ranging investigation into fixing that resulted in 14 arrests – including Lazio captain Stefano Mauri – to bring the total number arrested to about 50 since last year.

The Italian soccer federation later said Juventus coach Antonio Conte was under investigation for alleged wrongdoing while in charge of Siena in 2010/11, and announced the withdrawal of defender Domenico Criscito from the Euro 2012 squad a day before the player lists have to be submitted to Uefa.

The Irish Slave Trade – The Forgotten “White” Slaves

The Irish Slave Trade – The Forgotten “White” Slaves: They came as slaves; vast human cargo transported on tall British ships bound for the Americas. They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.

Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. They were burned alive and had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives.

We don’t really need to go through all of the gory details, do we? After all, we know all too well the atrocities of the African slave trade. But, are we talking about African slavery? King James II and Charles I led a continued effort to enslave the Irish. Britain’s famed Oliver Cromwell furthered this practice of dehumanizing one’s next door neighbor.

The Irish slave trade began when James II sold 30,000 Irish prisoners as slaves to the New World. His Proclamation of 1625 required Irish political prisoners be sent overseas and sold to English settlers in the West Indies. By the mid 1600s, the Irish were the main slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat. At that time, 70% of the total population of Montserrat were Irish slaves.

The bill also enables future governments to update the technology (without restriction), and prohibits images or personal information from being stored or transmitted.

Australia’s minister for Transport, Anthony Albanese, has been quoted as saying “The millimetre-wave body scanners are perfectly safe and one body scan is comparable to passive exposure to a mobile phone used several metres away”.

Unfortunately, Mr Albanese is not only wrong, but his statements are also misleading.

The command, which covers some 36,000 troops including 15,800 US Marines, announced that troops will only be allowed to take photographs for “official purposes,” and will no longer be taking “happy snaps,” apparently the official name for pictures like those showing US Marines urinating on corpses in the nation.

No Country for Young Men as Old Men Play for Time: The End in Afghanistan is Totally Predictable :: www.uruknet.info :: informazione dal medio oriente :: information from middle east :: [reg.de]: I predict that the next two and a half years of pointless war in Afghanistan will be a terrible scene of drug abuse (there’s no shortage of opium and heroin in the country, perhaps the leading producer of the drug in the world), of terrible carnage of civilians as increasingly automated remote killing methods are employed to make up for the lack of motivation among the troops, and of US casualties, as the Taliban resistance grows increasingly confident of its power and its impending victory.

Activist Post: Recovery or Collapse? Bet on Collapse

Activist Post: Recovery or Collapse? Bet on Collapse:

The US financial system and, probably, the financial system of Europe, like the police, no longer serves a useful social purpose.

In the US the police have proven themselves to be a greater threat to public safety than private sector criminals. I just googled “police brutality” and up came 183,000,000 results.

(Here are two recent brutal assaults, one deadly, by police on hapless individuals: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2012/05/kelly-thomas-video-dad-they-are-killing-me-.html and http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31364.htm )

The cost to society of the private financial system is even higher. Writing in CounterPunch (May 18), Rob Urie reports that two years ago Andrew Haldane, executive Director for Financial Stability at the Bank of England (the UK’s version of the Federal Reserve) said that the financial crisis, now four years old, will in the end cost the world economy between $60 trillion and $200 trillion in lost GDP. If Urie’s report is correct, this is an astonishing admission from a member of the ruling elite. http://www.counterpunch.org/2012/05/18/the-true-costs-of-bank-crises/print

Europe is driving full-tilt, foot on the pedal, into a brick wall - Telegraph: by Boris Johnson Mayor of London

Europe now has the lowest growth of any region in the world. We have already wasted years in trying to control this sickness in the euro, and we are saving the cancer and killing the patient. We have blighted countless lives and lost countless jobs by kidding ourselves that the answer to the crisis might be “more Europe”. And all for what? To salvage the prestige of the European Project, and to spare the egos of those who were wrong and muddle-headed enough to campaign for the euro.

Opium production in Afghanistan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Opium production in Afghanistan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Opium production in Afghanistan, 1980-2005. Based on United Nations data.
During the Taliban rule, Afghanistan saw a bumper opium crop of 4,500 metric tons in 1999,.[15] However, in July 2000, Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar, collaborating with the United Nations to eradicate heroin production in Afghanistan, declared that growing poppies was un-Islamic, resulting in one of the world's most successful anti-drug campaigns. As a result of this ban, opium poppy cultivation was reduced by 91% from the previous year's estimate of 82,172 hectares. The ban was so effective that Helmand Province, which had accounted for more than half of this area, recorded no poppy cultivation during the 2001 season.[16][17] The Bush administration paid a 43 million dollar 'eradication' reward payment to the Taliban in 2001. [13]

Fukushima Reactor 4 poses massive global risk | CTV News

Fukushima Reactor 4 poses massive global risk | CTV News: Reactor 4 -- and to a lesser extent Reactor 3 -- still hold large quantities of cooling waters surrounding spent nuclear fuel, all bound by a fragile concrete pool located 30 metres above the ground, and exposed to the elements.

A magnitude 7 or 7.5 earthquake would likely fracture that pool, and disaster would ensue, says Arnie Gundersen, a nuclear engineer with Fairewinds Energy Education who has visited the site.

The 1,535 spent fuel rods would become exposed to the air and would likely catch fire, with the most-recently added fuel rods igniting first.

The incredible heat generated from that blaze, Gundersen said, could then ignite the older fuel in the cooling pool, causing a massive oxygen-eating radiological fire that could not be extinguished with water.

10 Things You Didn't Know About Drones - By Micah Zenko | Foreign Policy

10 Things You Didn't Know About Drones - By Micah Zenko | Foreign Policy: The Pentagon now boasts a fleet of approximately 7,500 drones, up from just 50 a decade ago. According to a congressional report, "manned aircraft have gone from 95% of all [Defense Department] aircraft in 2005 to 69% today." Over the next decade, the Pentagon expects the number of "multirole" drones -- ones that can both spy and strike -- to nearly quadruple, to 536. In 2011, the Teal Group consulting firm estimated that worldwide spending on unmanned aerial vehicles will nearly double over the next decade from $5.9 billion to $11.3 billion annually. In the future, drones are projected to: hover just behind infantry soldiers to watch their backs; carry airborne lasers to intercept ballistic missiles; perform aerial refueling; and conduct long-range strategic bombing missions. Given that drones will become cheaper, smaller, faster, stealthier, more lethal, and more autonomous, it is harder to imagine what they won't do than what they will. Whatever limits drones face will be imposed by us humans -- not technology.

64 Years Since The Nakba :: www.uruknet.info :: informazione dal medio oriente :: information from middle east :: [vs-1]:

The Nakba is the source of the still-unresolved Palestinian refugee problem. Today, there are more than 4 million registered Palestinian refugees worldwide. The majority of these still live within 60 miles of the borders of Israel and the West Bank and Gaza Strip where their original homes are located. Israel refuses to allow Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and to pay them compensation, as the UN Resolution 194 of Right of Return for the Palestinians is not binding and like many other UN resolutions it has been used as a suggestion rather than as an order.
